Mammon

Mammon, the lord of wealth,

Whose riches have captured our hearts,

A siren song that we pursue,

Our devotion of countless parts.

We sacrifice our peace of mind,

At the altar of his endless gain,

A fleeting joy that we can find,

In the short-lived power of his reign.

Yet true worth lies in noble deeds,

Not in the coins that we amass,

For in the end, our soul will plead,

To turn from Mammon's treasure stash.

So let us seek a higher path,

And not be bound by Mammon's spell,

Find joy in deeper things that last,

And all our earthly fears dispel.
